Cape Town


Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa and is the capital of the Western Cape Province . It is located in the south-west corner of the country near the Cape of Good Hope, and is the most southern city in Africa. It is a stone's throw from South Africa's world-famous Cape Winelands around Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek.
The Cape Town metropolitan area covers a large area, from Durbanville and Somerset West in the east to Cape Point in the south and Atlantis in the north. The city centre is located at the shore of Table Bay. Cape Town has some of the worlds best wine producing vineyards and arguably the worlds most scenically stunning on it's doorstep. The city is famous for its harbour , for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region , and for such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, reflecting its role as a major destination for immigrants and expatriates to South Africa. The city was named the World Design Capital for 2014 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design . In 2014, Cape Town was named the best place in the world to visit by both the American New York Times and the British Daily Telegraph.
The Cape Town region generally, with its Mediterranean climate, extensive coastline, rugged mountain ranges, coastal plains, inland valleys and semi-desert fringes, has much in common with Southern California. Contemporary South African art has been riding a big wave in the international art world.

The Holy Kaaba

The Kaaba (The Cube) is a building at the center of Islam's most important mosque, that is Masjid-al-Haram, Saudi Arabia. The Kaaba is the epicenter of Mecca. The cube-shaped structure is the most sacred site in Islam . It is considered by Muslims to be the Bayt Allah "House of God". Wherever they are in the world, Muslims are expected to face the Kaaba when performing Salat. Muslims do not worship the Kaaba. It serves as a focal point for Muslims around the world, unifying them in worship and symbolizing their common belief, spiritual focus and direction. It is the only place on Earth that you can pray in any direction you want. Until recently, the Kaaba was opened twice a week for anyone to enter and pray. Recently I heard of the war going on in Aleppo a city in Syria. I was then curious to know what the city was like before the war. Five years ago it was one of the most beautiful city one would come across. But now it is all in ruins. The city had spent centuries evolving into the country's largest industrial and commercial hub and is one of the oldest inhabited cities in human history.
